This privacy statement explains how the Anthropology in Practice website, part of the University of Edinburgh’s School of Social and Political Science, collects, uses, and protects your data in compliance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR).

The website does not collect personal data from visitors. The only user data stored is for site editors, which includes usernames and email addresses.

The website does not use Google Analytics. However, basic visitor data (including IP addresses) is logged via the inbuilt cPanel analytics system. This data is only accessible to the school Web & Systems team for technical support and information security purposes.

Website records are retained for a maximum of three years, with backups stored for six years.
